I am, as they say, 'at liberty'
Today, I was laid off. My position was eliminated during a fairly significant management reshuffling and I preferred the layoff over demotion to senior developer. (Yeah, I may end up a senior dev somewhere else, but that would be somewhere else. It is a fine distinction, I will admit.)
So, I'm not exactly out on my ass but I am out of a job. I have a small severance package, so I will be OK in the short run. In the mean time I have a little slack to work on personal projects before I get serious about looking for work. Expect to see me more often here as well; not to mention elsewhere in netspace.
In any case, I am now available for small programming or technical writing projects (stuff I can do from home) and would love to hear about any openings for software architects with experience in embedded systems, web, and mobile.
