So, I met Ira Glass last night, and it was weird and wonderful and overwhelming. I'm excited for you! Believe me, you are not alone in your nerddom.

I saw him at a TAL "live"-type event sponsored by the local (i.e. Minnesota) public radio station a few years ago. Sadly, they did another such event last year, but this time with David Rackoff and Sarah Vowell in tow. Dumb baby made me miss that one. Bah.

Did he say anything noteworthy to you?

All he said to me was "Thank you" and "Nice to meet you." I didn't really give him a chance to talk; I said my insane little piece and basically ran out of the store. It was bad news.
I can only assume that one day when Ira and I are best friends, we'll look back on this and laugh.

Well, that would have been a bit more dignified.
I certainly stared dumbly during his talk. I'm pretty sure my mouth was literally hanging open. Sexy.
