I have not read the City of Ember books, but after seeing the description I am going to do so as soon as possible. I also see that the screenplay was written by Caroline Thompson!! I'm excited already.

As for the classical goths, the best guess I have is that I,Claudius must have something to with it. Or we are just gothbait.
