I feel your pain. After putting it off for over 10 years, I finally got around to seeing a dentist last month. Surprisingly, I only needed five small fillings and one root canal. The fillings were all done in one visit the week before Christmas. The root canal, however, has taken three visits so far and I'm still not done. I have to go in next week so they can grind down the tooth and place a post. Then at least one more visit for the crown. The tooth is in the front top, so the injections are placed in the gum line right underneath my nose. It's a weird feeling when the only part of my face that is numb is the nose and the center of my upper lip.
