Sometimes I like baiting my mother deliberately. It comes from years of accumulated knowledge of what will set her off and me being too amused by what she says sometimes

AHHH Dans Paris!!! I LOVE Louis Garrel! When I was in Paris last year, I was walking down the street and I SAW HIM! AHHAHAHA! IT WAS AMAZING! Ahem. I mean, he's a good actor, too. And he's really incredibly gorgeous, oh god.
& i've heard about the fashion is spinach screenings, are they any good? marie antoinette wasn't much storywise, but i can't help but watch it over and over just for the aesthetic of it.
this is my first time watching a screening with them! but i think it should be pretty good, the screening room is very small, though--it's at a little shophouse room at haji lane!
yeah, i'm not expecting it to be deep or particularly meaningful, but it just looks SO gorgeous. :D
re: marie antoinette, i am bringing a spoon because i expect everything to look so gorgeously yummy, i'm going to want to eat it all. congrats on the new printer, babe! you have to christen it with a suitable name
Salut, and I know this is kinda late, but since yer a mate of Gen's (I chanced upon yer LJ via hers, and I'm now wondering if we know each other...)... and a fan of Garrel, you might wanna check out LES CHANSONS D'AMOUR, which is his recent film following DANS PARIS, and is also directed by Christophe Honore.
Fab soundtrack, aside from the fact that all three leads - Garrel, Ludivine Sagnier and Clothilde Hesme - are too gorgeous and heartbreakingly real. It's Jean Eustache's LA MAMAN ET LA PUTAIN set in post-1'an 2000 Paris.
Also, you might have already seen/heard of LES AMANTS REGULIERS, which stars Garrel and Hesme, and is directed by his daddy, Philippe Garrel (an amazingly underrated Nouvelle Vague director who I love).
hey, sorry for this stupidly late comment, but i'm a lazy arse when it comes to them. i saw the trailer for Les Chansons D'Amour, and i have an even huger crush on Louis Garrell now. that boy is too beautiful for words. AND HE CAN SING! Clothilde Hesme has such a beautiful singing voice, wow.
also... doesn't putain mean "fuck"? not literally, but in the vernacular or whatever? but i guess "The Mother & the Whore" makes more sense than "The Mother & the Fuck"!
and who knows, maybe we do know each other? i'm an old school/classmate for hers from kc...
Aye, Les Chansons d'Amour is rather splendid. I have the soundtrack :) Alex Beaupain (the songwriter who also sang one number called Brooklyn Bridge) is quite a heartbreaker with his charms too. And yesyesyes, Garrel is delish. So is Clotilde Hesme (who I'd been in love with since her appearance in Le Chignon d'Olga...). Even Ludivine Sagnier looked tasty in the comfy divine-lass-next-door way. And they can ALL sing. There's another character in the film - shit am I giving spoilers? - who's a dish too - Gregoire Leprice-Ringuet.... But I shall stop here lest I give away the plot
