3. What would a crossover between numbers one and five include? I'm totally writing one! Lol. So… I suppose it includes sarcastic!out-of-her-element!Madeline, younger!Wash, pre-canon!Firefly, post-canon!AU!LFN, and oddness all around.
And it is such an awesome story!!!
Oh and I totally agree with you on the whole *take Martha Bullock away* idea! She so killed my ship on Deadwood!! (Of course, I love the actress on Breaking Bad)
though I have a screwed up, probably very-wrong love for Al/Trixie, despite it being, without question, a messed up, abusive relationship.
Seriously, we need to form a support group for this ship because dammit I wanted to ship them when I watched the show.
…What? I had such wonderful, femslashy hopes for that bit of canon. Lol .
Between reading Xena Uber/Classic/Conqueror and "Facts of Life" fic, I have cornered the market on femslashy hopes for pairings!
Sorry if this is awkward because I don't know you, but I just wanted to say I LOVE I, Claudius. I only recently discovered it, and it's so hard to find any fandom to speak of for long-past (but brilliant!) 70s BBC shows. Livia is <3.
I haven't seen any of these shows (though Boston Legal and Torchwood are totally in my Netflix queue, so I'll be watching them at some point), so I'm not sure what all the answers would entail, but it might be fun to post just to see what people think! :D
Hee! These are funny. But you didn't like Tory? I always thought she was fairly interesting, and her appalling, misogynistic treatment at the hands of the writers has made me somewhat defensive of her. Seth/Alma...YES PLEASE. And I too had an unhealthy affection for Al/Trixie. But even worse, I also kind of shipped *gulps* Cy/Joanie. I mean, it was obvious he was an evil fuckwad, but I saw his affection for her as pretty much his only redeeming quality and the power dynamics in their relationship were interesting. But he did, you know, ruin her life and give her some pretty intense PTSD, so YMMV.
Also, I support killing Jason. And Michael. Actually, can we kill both Michael and Nikita and make this the Operations and Madeline show? kthxbye.
I'm not sure why I didn't like Tory. I think it was because she seemed to go from decent-person to unapologetic-murderer in the matter of an instant. She found out she was a Cylon and then... I guess seemed to embrace that whole-heartedly, and maybe that shouldn't have annoyed me, but it did. But then, by the end of the show, I didn't like many of the characters at all. Lol. I was totally in love with Laura for the first two seasons, and was rooting for Laura/Bill like whoa, and loved the Lee/Kara thing, and then... ugh. Everything sort of went stupid on me. I've considered a rewatch that stops mid-season two, just to wash the bad taste out of my mouth, you know

Oh yeah, I see what you mean about Tory. She wasn't even my favorite--I just think that the way Tyrol killed her, and then all the icky con stuff that happened (I don't know if you read any of those posts) makes me sensitive to Tory-bashing. IDEK, the whole show just went to hell in the last few seasons. I'm another one who loved Laura and was a total A/R shipper, but got completely disgusted with 4.5. I mean, really? This powerful female character spends her last few months with an alcoholic egomaniac? No thanks. Plus, my hatred of EJO after the UN fiasco kind of seeped into my feelings about the character

I'm completely oblivious to what happened. Lol. I actually know nothing whatsoever about the actors and actresses themselves, so my feelings are completely based on what happened in the show--which, considering the last couple seasons, isn't necessarily a good thing. The only one I liked by the end of the series was Six, I think--which was odd, considering I didn't start out liking her at all. She grew on me by season 2 or so. Lol.
Nikita...you see, my reaction to learning she was the mole was not "gee, she must be smarter than I gave her credit for," but "gee, the writers are really stupid."I'm sure that's actually the case. Lol. I doubt it was meant to be that way all along, and so the tacked-on ending that didn't quite ring true or even possible was uber-annoying. I guess after a while, though, I started thinking it'd be fun to write her as having actually been capable of that, and trying to find a way to make it work in the context of canon, and I've had... limited success in
