I think this still has an undercurrent of humor! But the plot is progressing really nicely. And a sequel! You won't get any complaints from me on that score!!

*grins* The sequel, it has eaten my brain. Really, LFN has eaten my brain. This was all going to be one big story, but it was getting all unwieldy, and the title had nothing whatsoever to do with the arc the story was going to take, so... will end this at a good point, then write story two. (And, if story two goes as planned and ends the way I'm intending now, possibly story three, but don't hold me to that...)

Oh, so much WIN here!!! And a Sequel too!!!!!!!!!

See, I would have better adjectives to use in my comments, but the awesomeness of your fic robs me of my coherency so I'm reduced to words with only a few syllables!!

she even manages to tell the girl she envies her while still maintaining a straight face, if only just barely.

Um...thank you so much for this line. That line in the show and Madeline turning her back on an armed Nikita always make me want to slam my head against the desk.

Really, I love everything about this story so it's kind of hard to articulate it here!

I know, right?! WTF, writers? I like to think that Madeline was trying very hard not to gag in disgust while saying that particular line. :D

Very nice balance here of unadulterated silliness and actual speculation about plot and motivation. A tricky business to keep in line, but you've done a great job.

Now, exasperated and nearly overwhelmingly frustrated, she decides torture is infinitely preferable.

Yes, well, it seems that the Gelman process is torture for Madeline -- of course she'd rather have someone else suffer!

Thank you!! :D

And yes, I can't imagine Madeline putting herself through such irritation just to spare any terrorist a bit of pain. Lol.

I laughed at how ditzy Nikita was under the drug. It reminded me of all those blonde!Nikita fics...

A sequel! Yay. You write Paul and Madeline snarkiness so well; I can't wait to see them get up to more mischief. ;)

LOL! <3 ditzy!Nikita.

Thank you so much! I'm glad you're enjoying it; the sequel will definitely include lots of Madeline & Paul scenes--more than this story, in a way, as this story focuses very closely on Madeline, and the other one will be a big of a broader scope on things, I think...

Great Madeline exasperation - here, and too, the interest she is taking in the new puzzle. Cool! And an excellent explanation for why they never just killed M and N. Because really... that was the solution very early on LOL!

Thank you!!

And it really, really was. Lol. For being the sort who regularly killed people with very little reason for doing so, you'd think Madeline and Paul would have just done away with one or both of them at one point or another, after all the frustration they seemed to cause them. *shakes head at the writing on this show*
