For all their claims to culture and civility, artistic types can be terribly messy. Jack had anticipated this, really. He just hadn’t anticipated the extent of their messiness. He’s thankful that his house is so small and refuses to think of the mess he’d have to clean if it were larger

"You're going to be finding wine glasses in odd places for days," Ann calls from the kitchen. "Actors are cunning like that."

Jack laughs from the living room, scooping down to pick up a pair of glasses from the floor next to the couch. "As long as I don't find any in places where I have to sit or sleep, I'm fine."

"Better check the couch cushions, then," she jokes as she comes to the door, stretching.

He holds up the two glasses to her. "Found two refugees."
