Grif was awake, and hungry. He tried to ignore Sarge’s directive to subsist on a purely liquid diet for now, but was forestalled by Simmons.
Sitting next to him with a bowl balanced in his lap, the maroon Spartan determinedly spoon-fed his best friend. Grif accepted it with quite a bit of grumbling. But he accepted it all the same.
Donut watched the two, a knowing look in his eyes. He turned to Sarge with a wide grin on his face as they squabbled.
Looking disgruntled, the CO slunk out of the room. He couldn’t take any more of this gooey crap.
