My mother and I went to visit another one of the missions here in the Bay Area. I've seen the historical landmark sign along the freeway heading into Silicon Valley, and figured the mission in Santa Clara wouldn't be too hard to locate. Saint Clara "as is," eh? Must've been one of those "keep it simple, stupid" saints.

I've been to Santa Clara, I think. All I remember is the same stuff I remember from all the missions my family looked at in the area - banana slugs and stucco. beyond the "all god's creatures" but, banana slugs are intensely disgusting.

I went on a field trip to the one in San Luis Obispo when I was in the fourth grade. Long-ass bus ride. I asked my mom what she remembered about being taken to different ones by her mother, and she remembers the bus rides being too long as well.

The funny thing is I know students that attended the university, but never put two and two together. :)

you're right. that is the best quote about that movie ever.

I have a couple of friends who thought WhiteWolf should now be making "Christ: the Bleeding" to ride the marketing craze that followed Mad Max's movie.

I still haven't been to the one in San Francisco, Mission Delores (aka Mission San Francisco de Asis), but have probably passed by the place hundreds of times. I'm thinking that one is gonna be next on the list. I'm curious to see if all the missions have gory crucifixions somewhere on their premises.
