Chapter 1 `-`-`-`-`-`Chapter 2 `-`-`-`-`-`-
~*~A week later ~*~
He walked down the hallways as he always did; head down, no eye contact, the books that didn't fit in his backpack in his arms and as a chest plate because they covered his chest protectively as he crossed his arms. He also hunched a little, afraid that they'd noticed he'd grown a couple of centimeters more and would pick on him for his height now. It was a wonder he was able to even function with the severity of his hermit tendencies. But at least he hadn't developed an obsessive compulsive disorder or a type of panic to social circumstances. He just chooses to be anti-social... or so he'd like to believe. The only problem was his stuttering. He hoped he would be able to work on that during the summer, when he didn't have to worry about school and could focus on work and trying to overcome his irrational fears. And he knew they were irrational, but couldn't seem to pinpoint where they had begun.
He realized today, as he was riding the bus, that he'd soon turn 18 and couldn't afford being content with the way things were. He needed to improve himself now, not wait for maturity with age to hit.
He suddenly heard the warning bell ring, signaling the beginning of classes, and just on cue he also heard the loud yelling and cooing of girls as they praised the most popular and rich guy in school, Jung Yunho. He momentarily observed as Yunho, and he would only dare call him Yunho in his head, strutted through the parted crowd and walked suavely towards his class, ignoring like always the praises that everyone threw his way and not even bothering to look at the ones so dedicated to him.
Changmin hated the guy.
He thought he was all that because of his parent's money and treated everyone like shit, only playing with them when he felt like it. But he knew he couldn't show his discontent out in the open because then he'd bring attention to himself once more and he wanted to avoid that at all cost. He was happy being the social reject nobody talked to at the moment. He shifted his gaze when he saw Yunho was going to turn his way, hiding behind his long bangs, and decided to just go to his class before he brought attention to himself.
Another normal day at Dong Ki High... or at least he'd thought so when he started his day.

Jaejoong was irritated beyond belief with his, for lack of a better description to what he truly was, older brother. It was nice to feel at least the negative emotions every now and then, and thanks to Junsu he felt them once every year at least.
Junsu had gotten it into his head to enroll in the local high school again, just for fun he says, and wanted to drag Jaejoong down with him.
"Buuuuttttttt Jaaaaaaaaaaeeeeeeeeee!" Junsu whined. Oh, he knew that he only got away with that type of childish behavior because Jaejoong was younger than him. If Jaejoong would've been the older vampire he doubted he'd still be alive to tell the tale of how he annoyed the cold hearted Jaejoong into madness. "You know I can't go aloneeeee.... Yoochun won't allow it. Annnddddd, if you come willingly, it'll stop his whinning about you finding your mate and yada yada for a decade or so more before he starts up again. Don't you want a few decades of silence between an eternity of bitchin'?"
Jaejoong stared at Junsu with a blank face. 'Bitchin'? Junsu really was getting into this era's slang.' Jaejoong thought as he sat down. He sighed, exhausted again after having argued with Junsu for the better part of the night. Even though he didn't breathe now in his new reborn life, he still found the gestures of his human world useful in expressing thing he knew he once felt intensified tenfold.
He thought about the benefits and the setbacks enrolling into high school again would bring. He wasn't sure whether he wanted to fend off all the ignorant highschooler's that were attracted to him because of what he was. Being a predator, his prey had to find him attractive in order for him to stalk closer... therefore the kids would literally be magnetized to his being and he'd have his pick of the litter to feed off of whenever he pleased. Then again, he'd never really cared who he fed off of.
"Please, please, pleeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaseeeeeeeeee. Come on, just come with me to see it. Then if you don't want to go... you'll still go." Junsu smirked at Jaejoong, then laughed at the killer glare Jaejoong sent him. "Just kidding my adorable dongsaeng. But really, I can't do this alone Jae and like I said, think of the benefits. I'll come back in half an hour to get you so that we can take a look at the school I picked, okay. See you then."
With that Jaejoong had a couple of seconds of silence. He supposed it was time to make an appearance in today's modern society and see how the humans had evolved.

Changmin took his lunch somewhere outside, looking for a place to eat peacefully. He constantly had to switch locations for fear that a pattern would make him an easy target to find and it had been working so well after that incident three years ago. He'd become a pro at hiding.
The sun was high in the sky and the light breeze was refreshing. He quickly made his way to a place he hadn't really been to in a while, making sure nobody saw him moving about. He was happy that people minded their own business and that he truly had achieved his goal of being invisible to their radars. Once he reached the mini forest that was on campus, a fair distance from the cafeteria but still close to the patio area, he sat down behind the tree, facing away from the school and settled down to eat the lunch he'd packed for himself today; contented in the silence that surrounded him.
~*~
"Okay, let's stop here. We can observe the school just fine from this distance Junsu." Jaejoong said in a monotone voice. He had agreed to view the school, not socialize with the student body.
Junsu pouted before saying, "But Jae, it's not close enough."
Jaejoong turned his narrow eyed glare at Junsu.
"And you know it is. We don't need to be within reaching distance to see, hear, or smell the kids in that area. This is as far as I'll go." Jaejoong said tersely while crossing his arms. He could already tell he would be annoyed by the children walking around, acting all high and mighty because they were wealthy. He could already hear the gossip of the latest girl who gained weight or hear the threats of the bully ready to beat some innocent bystander for just looking in their direction and being unworthy. Sometimes he wonders whether things will ever change. Seemed that no matter what era he was in there was always gossip and injustice in the school system.
"Fine, fine. We'll stay here... but I'll just get a little bit further in than you." Junsu giggled as he got closer to the edges of where the trees ended and the school yard could be seen. Jaejoong just stared at Junsu's back as the other tried to restrain himself from getting closer. It seems that it truly had been a long time since-
The breeze shifted and Jaejoong felt and heard a thud in his chest at the same time this delicious scent reached him. He frowned, shook his head, and looked at Junsu to see if he'd heard anything.
The breeze shifted again, while Junsu seemed oblivious of anything, still looking straight ahead.
Jaejoong heard another thud, loud and clear and quickly rushed to Junsu as the other relied heavily on a nearby tree while clutching his chest.
"Junsu! What's the matter?" Jaejoong asked as he held Junsu up, frowning as he noticed the other looked more pale than normal.
"I- ugh!" Junsu clutched his chest tighter and bent down, Jaejoong letting him lean down while going down with him. They both knelt on the ground.
The thudding noise was becoming more rhythmic, more frequent thuds between the pauses.
"I-I- Jae-ugh... take-me-home." Junsu managed to say, his eyes flashing a reddish glow that shocked Jaejoong. He quickly grabbed onto Junsu's arm and traced* them to their mansion.
~*~
Changmin turned towards where he could have sworn he'd heard noises, but saw nothing. He frowned, was he hearing things? He shrugged and kept eating his rice balls, ignoring the little chill he'd gotten when the wind had brought to him this delicious smelling scent that he couldn't quite identify.
~*~
"Yoochun! Yoochun! Where are you!" Jaejoong yelled as he laid Junsu in his own bed. The other looked less in pain and he was breathing deeply. Jaejoong was afraid of what that meant.
Yoochun appeared before them in a blink of an eye and opened his mouth in shock.
"My eldest has..." he didn't finish as he went closer to Junsu, touching his forehead.
"Ugh, don't touch me. It hurts." Junsu scrunched up his face, running away from the hand.
"Hahahahahahaha! It doesn't hurt silly. It's just that you've been a vampire for so long that actually feeling a touch is new all over again. Jimin! Jimin! You have to come and see this!" Yoochun happily called his spouse over. She appeared in a blink of an eye too, tracing from somewhere else in the house.
"Omo, did Junsu?" She asked shocked.
While the happy couple began sprouting non-sense Jaejoong backed away from the scene. He traced to their mansion's pond and sat down in the bench under a tree near it. He couldn't believe it, Junsu had found his mate. And in that high school too. He didn't know what to think of that.
He suddenly remembered that weird feeling he'd felt in his own chest and for the first time in a long time felt an imaginary tingle of fear course through him. Maybe, just maybe, it's not what he thinks. Maybe he just was somehow feeling Junsu's reaction? He decided he'd ask Yoochun whether that was possible later on today.

Changmin was in a hurry. He ran the remaining distance to his class, trying to ignore the way the spotlight would hit him as soon as he entered so tardy to class. He'd finished eating his lunch, but immediately afterwards had felt incredibly sleepy, so decided to take a nap. He'd overslept through the warning and actual bell that signaled lunch was over and had ended up waking ten minutes into class. He began to sweat as he imagined all those eyes on him... judging and cynical... as his hand slowly inched towards the door.
'Remember, you want to get over it. It's your new goal for today, this is the first step.' Changmin pep talked to himself as he dared to open the door.
"Ah, Mr. Shim. Glad you could join us. Is everything alright?" His math teacher asked as he noticed that Changmin was frozen, still standing at the door. Changmin could hear their whispering, but couldn't make out what they were saying. He could see how everyone was staring at him and he couldn't move.
"Mr. Shim, please go to the nurse's office. You don't look so well." His teacher's voice sounded so far away, but he managed to shakily nod and turned quickly to get out of the room. Before he had completely left he heard Jung Yunho say, "Ugh, what a weirdo." The whole class laughed at Yunho's comment.
Changmin quickly got away before he could hear anything more. The further he got from the crowd, the more he started to calm down and the more clearly he could think. Okay, so maybe he had developed a type of panic towards being the center of attention. This clearly indicated that. He sighed. Maybe he had a bigger problem to work with. But no problem, he would get through this. He still had a full year before he graduated this god forsaken place. A year would be enough to work with to overcome his abnormal behavior, right? At least he hoped so.

Jaejoong approached Junsu and was a little disturbed to see the other rubbing a silk fabric against his skin.
"Jae, this feels awesome! Oh, the feel of it. I'd forgotten what touch was like..." Junsu's face turned thoughtful and Jaejoong wondered what he was thinking, but let him do all the talking. He just went to a chair to sit down.
"You know, my mate is a beautiful creature physically. But there's something about him that is troubling. I just had a glance, but with that one glance I could see that he's not sweet or kind or naive or anything like that. He seemed... heartless from what I saw..." Junsu said, seemingly not aware of whether Jaejoong was listening or not.
Jaejoong stared at Junsu, hoping to get answers through his babbling.
"And the way he smells..." Junsu sighed exaggeratedly while closing his eyes, "it was the most divine smell in the world. It's true, belladonna blood is the most exquisite smelling blood of all and more so when it's your mate's blood... Did you smell him?" Junsu said curiously, wide eyed.
Jaejoong moved uncomfortably in his seat. Maybe he should've gone to Yoochun before talking with Junsu. "Yes. At least I believe so." He said curtly.
He remembered the sweet smelling scent and felt his heart compress slightly. His eyes widened as he cleared his thoughts. Junsu stared at him for a while. This made Jaejoong nervous. He didn't even realize he wasn't suppose to feel nervous in the first place.
"Hm. You seem a little different Jaejoong... why?" Junsu said, getting up from the bed and dropping the silk sheets unceremoniously to the ground.
Jaejoong quickly got up from his seat as well, ready for anything but just then Yoochun came into the room.
"What's going on." Yoochun asked sternly.
"Does Jaejoong look different to you Yoochun? He was acting weird a second ago." Junsu said as he took another step closer.
Jaejoong glared at Junsu to keep him at bay. He didn't understand what the other was talking about, but since Yoochun was here he had to ask.
"Yoochun, is it possible to have two vampires with the same mate? Or for two vampires with blood ties to feel the awakening of his brother's heart?" Jaejoong asked seriously, shocking the other two vampires in the room.
Yoochun frowned before answering, "I don't believe anyone has ever had that experience. In my centuries of life I've never seen that happen... I don't think it's physically possible... why do you ask?"
Jaejoong moved towards the window, pondering what Yoochun had said.
"But it could happen then?" Jaejoong glanced back at Yoochun. If it couldn't happen then that meant... no... he'd rather it be that he felt Junsu's awakening than the other option of him having found a mate.
"You are acting weird." Yoochun said and suddenly he was in front of Jae listening for his heart.
"What the hell Yoochun!" Jaejoong exclaimed as he backed away from his maker. He didn't like his personal space to be invaded without his consent.
"Hm..." was all that Yoochun let out before backing away fully.
"What's that suppose to mean?" Jaejoong looked at him suspiciously, not sure of what to make of his maker's behavior.
"What is it Yoochun?" Junsu asked curiously as he edged closer to Yoochun, afraid of getting to close to Jaejoong due to his unpredictable behavior.
"I'll tell you later Junsu. For now get a handle of you newfound sensations before you meet your mate next. You wouldn't want to scare her-"
"Him." Junsu interrupted suddenly.
"Him? Really? Wow. Okay then, before you meet him again. Hahahaha, good luck with that one Su. I don't know how men in this era react to relationships of that caliber." Yoochun said cheerfully as he was exiting the bedroom. He suddenly paused in the threshold, "And Jaejoong, I suggest you go back to the school yard. I think you left something there."
Jaejoong didn't understand why Yoochun gave him a creepy smile or why he said he forgot something over there. Why did Yoochun have to act so creepy... he decided to ignore him.
He headed towards the door to go to his room already, but then Junsu's voice stopped him.
"Jae, why did you ask that?" Junsu's voice sounded curious and cautious at the same time. Jaejoong turned to look at him and wondered why the other looked so curious.
"No reason Junsu. Leave me alone for right now." With that Jaejoong traced to another location he hadn't visited in so long ago. The place that took his love away, yet brought so many other wonderful memories. Memories he hadn't wanted to revisit until now.
