I have similar reservations about the Internet, particularly Con #2 : brainskittering.

Someone recommended Strict Workflow to me which I have not installed on the grounds that really I should be able to just get my act together damnit, but maybe I will...

Although, when tempted to think 'I am a completely different person due to the Internet' I think it's worth remembering that after 10 years, one would be a completely different person *anyway*.

Is there some reason that you have to use the latest Photoshop? Not that I am an illustrator, but on those occasions I need to use PS, i have an old copy (5.5 I think) and so far it's worked for everything I needed to do with it...

Hi there! I've heard about this kind of restriction software, and like you, I've thought, c'mon Sarah, just use WILLPOWER. But it's not working, maybe I should look into it, too. Thanks for the link ( ... )

I don’t know Stuart but as a man I can assure you, you never have to think up something interesting to say. Silence in the presence of someone you like is wonderful and so are your drawings.

Ha ha! This is true. But I don't want to become like that couple in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, when Kate Winslet calls her partner and herself 'the dining dead'.

Yes, I agree with the previous commenter. Great post. I could relate to much of what you said. I came over via Joel Stewart's blog. Loved Oliver and the Seawigs. And I love your poster about trained librarians being a 'powerful search engine with a heart'. Cheers, Judy Watson. (Australian illustrator)
