spacious beyond belief - a little comic about a big house

These are my American grandparents. My grandmother died when I was in high school, but my grandpa has recently gone to live in a care home. It's a huge deal, because he's been in his house near Seattle since way before I was born, and he built it himself, so leaving it has been hard on him and the rest of the family, to say the least.

Oh Sarah. What a sad and happy little comic.

Shame we can't all club in and buy the house for you. :(

Hope your grandpa does ok in the home. Maybe he'll make lots of new friends and show them all the flying trick. :)

Thanks, girlfriend! I think he was surprised by how much he likes the care home. There are lots of nice Mongolian ladies on staff who look after him and fuss over him, so he gets a lot more company now.

Such a poignant comic - what lovely memories. I'm glad to hear he likes his new home.

That's a gorgeous house - pls transport it to SE London and I'll buy it right now, instead of the two bedroom flat I'm buying for about the same £/$. /whines

Thanks, Libbi! I know, I can't believe how little the house costs, considering that it's well built and so large. I guess it's because the market's so low right now, but still. You can't get much in London for less than £200,000, it's insane. Good luck with buying your flat, that must be very stressful.

What a poignant post Sarah - times change but sometimes it's so hard to let go - I hope a wonderful family buy your grandparents house and a whole new, warm, melting pot of memories are made there xxx

All sorts of memories, it's great to catch them before they're forgotten.
