Last night, very late, I sewed a doll for my friend's baby shower gift from a pair of soft old jeans. I kind of rushed it, so the little guy looks a bit lumpy and misshapen, and not entirely stylish. But at least he looks homemade, which I guess is the point.

Ha ha... no, next time I have a spare moment, I'll make dollies for everyone! ;-) The friend's a designer, so I feel like I'm cheating if I just pop down to Mothercare...

Ooo, I wish it had a little noisebox so it would squeak when it was squeezed...

I once had a teddy bear that made a cow noise when I tipped it over, it was the weirdest thing. But it's the only childhood stuffed animal I still own, although the noisebox has long stopped working.

I've seen those things in gift shops, as little handheld cylinders. You could sew one of those inside.
