I just need Jeopardy! to call me.

Then, I need to win big.

That's all there is to it.

(Since I never did [yet] do that 2008 recap, I should clarify in case you don't know, that I'm in the Jeopardy! contestant pool 'til this December--I'm not just idly waiting around hoping that Jeopardy! will call me without rhyme or reason. Basically sometime ( Read more... )

The Tournament of Champions is currently airing on Jeopardy! in my market. The questions are noticeably more difficult. I feel less smart.

Also, when they call, they need an audio file of the TV announcer saying "THIS...IS...JEOPARDY!" when you answer.

Man, that is not just "the TV announcer," that is JOHNNY GILBERT!

However, you are otherwise correct.

Or better yet, Johnny should just be the one to call me, and he can say that live.

Yeah, I knew he had a name you'd know, but I couldn't think of it before commenting.

Just don't take Potpourri for $100, for your head will start to spin.

If you go play Jeopardy! I might try to get in the studio audience to watch. That would be fun!

Too bad Don Pardo isn't with Jeopardy! anymore. It'll be Johnny Gilbert telling me what I didn't win. Just as long as I don't make look like a jerk in front of millions of people, or bring shame and disgrace to my family name for generations to come. A lousy copy of their home game would be nice, but I'll settle for not being a complete loser!

I think contestants get to bring a guest or two. If it's just one, I'm gonna have to go with Großmutter, but if it's two I will definitely choose you too.

I probably told you this already, but I'm still hoping that you and my dad (who is also currently in the pool) will battle each other in Jeopardy! I know one of you will have to take the other one down, but it would be super tight, and there is no way that toolbag up against you two (I picture my dad stage left, you and the middle, and that lamewad stage right) would stand a chance.

HAH HAH I don't think you did tell me that, but I like the scenario. I doubt they'd put us up against one another; I think they like a more diverse geographical representation. If one of us went on and then just kept winning, he might play the other, though...probably not in both of our first game, though, I don't think.

Then again, who knows?
