I had a similar fruit-involved pushing out of story. It was a cheesy romance novel where the characters were eating a pomegranate, and the description was of removing the seeds and eating the flesh...

I have actually sliced raspberries, blackberries, and thimbleberries a couple of times, but it's admittedly difficult to manage and very uncommon.

Why were you slicing them?

To spread them more evenly over my snack (ice cream) when I only had a few good ones and didn't want to just mash them up.
