Hopefully it will be kind of like when you burn your tongue and can't feel anything for a while, then it comes back.

Sounds like a burn or allergic reaction. If you had sores all over your tongue, you've likely lost the top layters of skin and taste buds, which will have to grow back.

Sound like thrush, except the fact that you did not say anthing about wite patches. When the white paatches sluff away thye leave a raw mouth with no taste buds till the skin gowns back or the white fuz comes back and covers it for a while.
weither way GO TO A DR ASAP. do a walk in clinic if i were you.

It's not thrush. I don't have (and never did have) the white patches.

I'm not saying that you have/had it, but I've had trush before that had virtually no white patches, but it felt like strep throat. The doc found some white patches near my uvula (the punching bag thingy at the back of your throat), which I couldn't see.

Regardless of what it is, gargling with warm sea salty water won't hurt.

Agreed. It's not like I can taste it.

Nobody said anything about your bitterness? Must resist the temptation... But taste buds do grow back, and fairly quickly, so this too will pass.

Nobody did. I don't understand. I made it so obvious.
