Ah! ;^; I'm so happy about your post for some reason! I like alle three of them in their own way, too. Though I have already chosen Rowlet, not only because I love grass-types and mostly have chosen them, I feel like I like Litten and Popplio just the same. I think Rowlet is a refreshing grass-type starter because of it's second type and so on. But I want to mention that the previous grass-type starter were lovely in their own way, too! With their different behaviour and personality. That also applies on the fire- and water-type staters of course! I just tend to the grass-type staters and to be honest, it felt like a hard decision to me this time. So... xD what I wanted to say was, I also think that Popplios unpopularity is a real shame! :( It's such a cute new starter! I really like it's friendly and (a bit) clumsy appearance. The ball on Popplios nose is just fitting. Isn't it a playful and neat seal? :)
Totally agree :) Litten is my least favorite too. I like him, but to me, he doesn't "fit" into the scheme as much for some reason. Idk when I looked at the starters, Litten immediately popped into my eyes and felt that he was somehow "wrong" in there. Not in and of itself but just within that group of nof starters
( ... )
I like how Rowlet and Popplio are different to previous grass and water starters - Rowlet being a bird and the other starters being reptillian based (Chespin excluded) for grass and amphibian/repltillian based for water (Oshawott excluded). I'm going to have a lot of trouble deciding on which of the two I'd pick! I've already seen some cute Popplios and Rowlets on Etsy.
I have no problem with Littens design as a pokemon but it strikes me more as a design for that regions 'cat' pokemon, in the same vein as meowth, glameow and purrloin instead of a starter. I can't quite put my finger on why though - I think it's the eye design. The attitude the expression shows doesn't strike me as 'starter'. Maybe if it had rounder 'cuter' eyes? I dunno *shrugs* The 'attitude' could still be kept, zorua is cute as hell but still has that 'I'm better than you' look to it.
I'm looking forward to seeing the next stage evolutions though. I've seen people joke that Popplio will have a clown evolution - I hope not, clowns freak me out ^^;

Litten is my least favourite, but I will probably start liking him when I see him in the anime :)
