I find her believable as a woman and as a person, in the sense that she's got a wide range of characteristics, rather than one or two that stand out. A lot of RP (or novel, game, comic, TV, etc) characters have this one major dimenson: she's a fighter! he's a geek! she's a sex kitten! she's an ingenue! And a person can flesh the character out from there, but sometimes it still feels like that one characteristic is leading the way for all the others. With Sarah it feels like you've got all these personality traits working in concert. ^_^ d

Aww, thank you. :) It's easier for me to flesh out an OC, just because there aren't any pre-conceived stereotypes for her (well, aside from what the city imposes).

Also, I have a dumb question. What does ^_^ d mean? Is that a smiley giving a thumbs-up (so woefully unhip when it comes to emoticons).

Schrebs! And it can't be that he gives john an excuse to drink.

((Schreber is very very very very very multilayered and complex. I get to hear the thought processes behind what he does, and I'm always impressed by how much you put behind his motivations.))

((Heee. I think that goes with me thinking too much? I like getting inside Schrebs' head. It is nice to escape my own. Other people's demons are never as scary as your own. I also like that there's a lot of things that I have going on as motivations that nobody else seems to see, like his being very angry underneath.))

((There's something about that fierce loyalty to her friends, combined with the ability to develop a crush on a boy within 5.3 minutes of meeting him, that I find really cute and appealing about Melinda. XD ))

((Aww, thank you! And she totally gets a crush within 5.3 minutes. Although they're more of a "omg you're cool and nice and you rock" than an "... hi can I snog you" crush. And I'm glad you like the fierce loyalty. She is, and that's probably going to be her worst downfall.))

((This is a mega late reply but...Yeah if she developed lots of overwhelmingly "I WANT TO JUMP YOU RITE NOW 'KAY?" kind of crushes, that would be scary. The fact that they're "EEE you're nice can I hug you?? :3" crushes is cute and endearing.

...have a chibi.))

I'll ask for Rat, because he's new, and an oc.

I'm sorry, hon, I knew this was here, and then I hadn't signed into this account in forever so I forgot to respond. I really like Rat, and I think he's expanded in character throughout this plotline. The unflappability is a big asset, but I think what I like best about him is that he likes kids. That's not a characteristic you throw into the mix with your characters all that often (Tamh notwithstanding), and I think it adds something.

He is very much a bard.

Hee! Hi there! We've got a very small membership in dark__city, but I don't see any reason you can't put up an advert, since I've had a longstanding rule that Dark City fanfic and fanart are welcome in the comm. Thank you for asking first! I hadn't considered the possibility of people wanting to advertise in the community before for some reason, and I'm relieved to have the possibility brought to my attention by someone who's polite about it. ;)

Anyway, go ahead, but you may want to say in your post that Johnmun gave you permission to advertise, and if it's a lot of text or a large image, please lj cut it. Thanks!
