I've finished watching The Queen's Classroom! It's a great drama! Good and interesting plot and great acting from Amami Yuki and Shida Mirai. I thought it would just be comedy but I end up shedding a few tears at the end of almost every episode. Ultimately, it's quite a touching drama. I don't agree with Akutsu sensei's ways of teaching but what ( Read more... )

Ahh. Queen's Classroom. One of my faves. It's unique and touching. I looove it. That's the drama that I used to bait my sister into Jdramas last year lolll. I'm glad you liked it too.

Have you tried Enka no Juou (sp?). It's quite silly but surprisingly touching.

I've not baited anyone into Jdramas yet. D: I recommended my BFF Hana Yori Dango and some other dramas after she watched Nodame Cantabile (my recommendation too) but I don't think she every got down to watching them.

I've not watched Enka no Joou. I've read the synopsis before though but the word enka made me decide to not watch it. I can't appreciate enka. ^^; Since you suggested it, I'll add it to my memories and watch it another time. :)

hehe. i baited most of the females in my family. my sister prefers the more intense or serious kinds of dramas, so she definitely appreciated Queens Classrrom. We both cried together watching it xD.

Enka no Juou..girl, that drama....!!! There isn't much enka because amami yuki's character fails at life. She's the persona of bad luck. However, she always has a positive attitude and is VERY selfless. She also has her childhood self as her 'angel & devil' subconscious that she sees every time she's in a dilemma and she goes off into her own world where she imagines herself as a badass and beat sense/justice into people. Whereas, in reality...she's a big softie.

It's really silly...but towards the latter half, very touching.

My mum originally does watch some Jdramas to begin with but mostly KimuTaku and medical related dramas while my sister-in-law enjoyed Nodame Cantabile but prefers Kdramas, And err I only managed to convince my brother to watch Pride so I guess sports dramas would be for him except I can't see him watching ROOKIES. Seems too childish for him though I love the drama.

I'm definitely watching Enka no Joou now! Your description makes it sound funnier than the synopsis. :D Boy, I think I have a backlog of at least 25 Jdramas to watch and a lot of movies not to mention some Kdramas.
