There are a lot of rants going round my head at the moment on the theme of science, knowledge, ignorance, learning, information literacy, and what makes a thing worth knowing. I am emphatically not claiming any expertise in any of these things. At the moment I'm just writing around things I observe and trying to draw lines between them ( Read more... )

A meaningless question, to which any answers can have no significance other than (a) making the respondent feel important, and (b) obtaining some indication (which is almost certainly unrepresentative, meaningless if not actively misleading) of the current public "feeling" about energy from biomass.

And The Typography Of The Question Irritated Me Almost As Much As The Concept.

It's a push-poll, surely? the only thing that results is that the respondents go away thinking that Shell gives a toss about the environment.
