Matt Nathanson tonight at Irving Plaza (my absolute favorite place on the planet to see him play)!

To say I'm excited would be an understatement. If tonight's show is even half as good as the all time high that was his 10/15/05 show there, It'll still rank right up there somewhere in my top ten shows of all time.

Since the 10/12 show I managed to see him one more time on 12/7, but he was basically the extended opening act for someone I'd never heard of and only did stuff off Some Mad Hope. No complaints though since no Matt show is ever a bad one. I just like it when I have more than 45 minutes to bask in his glow. I LOVE me some Matt!

The first time I saw Matt was when he opened for Tori Amos. I had tix for 3 of the shows and, although I'd heard of him, since a friend of mine was already a fan, I'd never actually heard him before. The minute he stepped onstage and started his first song that first show, I fell for him HARD. Fortunately, he passes through NYC pretty often and I try to see him whenever he does. The Irving Plaza show he played in October '05 had to be one of the best concerts I've ever seen in my life (and I've definitely seen my fair share of shows ( ... )
