This sounds soooo much like me, but you said it better. *I* always hear the others' stories -- although I'm not as adept at the leaving as friends part, more like better acquaintances.
I loved this, and I can understand why you don't just dump non-contextual information on people. For some people, the characterization of themselves is easy. For others, it's hard to figure out the arc from the details.
At 29, the main character hasn't got shit figured out yet. The twists are unbelievable, and the ending needs work. This was my favorite part-- this is what a real life's story looks like, especially while you're still living it!

As far as the other part, yes! That's what always strikes me as strange about memoirs written by people who are my age. Even if something extraordinary has happened to you, there's still so much more that's yet to come.
