I am not a wedding photographer. I don't like weddings, nor do I like to take wedding photos. But, I got roped into doing a wedding on Tuesday. It was not too bad I guess, especially since it was not a big fancy thing, just a nice little civil ceremony with about 8 people in total in attendance, including the B&G and myself. I shot with the K-5 + 17-50/2.8 and K-7 + 70-200/2.8, both with AF-540FGZs and it was a really good combo to use. I really really liked the files from the K-5, and they gave me quite a bit more latitude to push/pull as needed, however the K-7 didn't perform too badly either. Having said that, I'd still change the K-7 over to a K-5 if given a chance.
I shot the ceremony, the signing of the stuff, and then did a few posed shots at a park nearby. I found that I can do the photojournalist thing and document the events, but when it came to the posed shots, I wasn't as comfortable, which makes sense since that's not my thing. I shot for about two hours and ten minutes all up and finished with 506 shots. After going through the whole post processing process, the deliverable to the B&G will be 147 photos, which I think they will be quite happy with.
