Wyatt had known before Isabel had told him that something was wrong with Savannah because he'd felt it. Unfortunately, he'd had his hands full with a pair of demons and he couldn't orb to her, and by the time he'd finished with them he'd had a message from Isabel telling him Savannah was on her way.
"I'm going to kill him," he muttered for about the twentieth time since last night. After breakfast.
The fact that Wyatt was at the table and not orbing off to go kick some hot-headed ass gave Isabel some hope that she'd be able to keep him from doing anything particularly dumb. Even if she did have to admit to a deep desire to soundly thump Johnny about the head herself.
"No killing," Isabel said as she set a platter of french toast on the table. "Maiming is a possibility though."
Savannah let herself settle into a chair and reached to pour some coffee. She didn't think she could handle any kind of food right now as she was still trying to process what had happened in the past twenty-four hours.
"No getting into trouble," she said softly.
Which, coming from Savannah was an odd thing indeed.
"We had a fight before I left on the case... but we made up. At least, I thought we had. We were going to talk and he was going to finally pick a date ..." Her smile wobbled and she tried to hide it behind her coffee cup.
