I keep hearing about all these college courses and teaching, and it always make me feel funny because I just work a normal job in hard labor, nothing complicated, so when people talk about them or vacations from them it almost makes me feel inadequate.

Wish my life were that busy.

I don't believe I've ever RPed in my life, the process just seems to complicated for me and I always worry I'll get stuck with the exact people you described. I always like to just enjoy my fandoms and make fun of them when they deserve it.

And finding good fics seems to be an issue with every fandom. People just throw things up these days.

I thought it might be fun to participate in NaNoWriMo, but I don't think I have the dedication.

What do you do for a living? And yeaaaah, stay away from RP, seriously. At the most, you can get together with close friends and musebox if you really want to try it out, but don't ever go into a game!

'Throw things up' gives me the image of barfing out bad fic, which is actually what a lot of people seem to do, in my opinion.

Have you considered trying out mini-WriMos? Like, 100 words a day for a month and stuff!

I work as a warehouse stocker/custodian on base. The people I work with are cool, but the people I work FOR kinda suck. Aside from my actual boss, who I directly work for. I don't know what I'd do without her, but she takes just as much shit from the other managers as we do, so she's on our side.

That is kind of what they do. Don't even do a spelling/grammer check half the time, not that it excuses the poor writing/bad plots. I miss when I was younger and it was all new and exciting so it didn't matter to me half as much. Then again back then there were more actual writers posting fics, and not random idiots with their 'omg, I can totally write, teehee, watch me make your eyes bleed!'

Haha. I think I have a hard enough time with the fics I write for fun, and those don't have a deadline! But I guess if I couldn't turn out hundred-word mini-challenges I'd really have to laugh at myself.

And that is probably why I'm getting annoyed. It seems as though most people who get into RP online are all about making friends, or shipping, or play in order to ignore their own problems and therefore get too serious, too entitled, or overall, so totally sucked into the game that everything becomes personal for them.

also it's annoying when you join a game and then start having fun and then someone STARTS SHIPPING or playing a smart character stupidly and it's like ??? why are you doing this, what are you doing this for hrnnghhh

... Hahaha I guess that's why I'm not really RPing anywhere. I mean, for me, I still do- like bits and pieces here and there and I lurk on dear_mun a lot, now. I think I've given up on big games, though.

YEAHHHH like I love rping around anonly 'cause I can ignore people I don't like and then RPing with friends 'cause I KNOW WE'LL HAVE FUN TOGETHER but sometimes big places with the obligatory must interact!! clause (esp. when you need to talk to canonmates because not talking to them would be hideously OOC) tend to not hold my interest so long, now.
