Every now and then I try a show on DVD that just sounds interesting. Randall & Hopkirk (deceased) is a British buddy-detective show from (I think) the 70's. When I saw the main premise, I knew I would have to at least try it out.

Darn those Brits for tackling the idea first!

LOL!

Yes, I've seen a few episodes of "Randall & Hopkirk (deceased)"... not bad, not one of my favourites, though. Apparently the Brits did a modern remake a few years ago, but I don't know how good it is.

Yeah, I found a reference to said remake online somewhere, but the DVDs are very much the original. Heh.

But I had to at least give it a shot, because "detective's ghost returns from the grave to detect his own murder" was a mystery novel I was plotting in high school. Darn those Brits for tackling the idea first!

Uh-oh. You're not the only one. My niece had the same idea. I'll have to Netflix the show for her, because it sounds like something she'd like. Cheesy is not a problem, I don't think. We like cheesy--we're crackers.

*facepalm* I figured it wasn't a totally original idea, but I'm rather amused to find someone at such a close remove.

And I don't know if this is something you guys would like or not--the idea is still cool, but I'm so spoiled by CSI and other mystery shows that I just couldn't quite get into. I liked the characters, though. And I giggled quite a lot through the pilot, because they're so British, and because it's such a formula buddy-show.
