Well, not really--I found it interesting, but with a startling amount of class bias. As if educated people are never poor. *facepalm*. Well-written and I recommend it especially if you don't know anyone who's on food stamps (and never thought they'd be).

Wait a second, if they're allotted a certain amount anyway... what would it matter what they spend it on?

EXACTLY. :) And as a friend pointed out, people who buy raw food, cook their own meals, and often share meals together are more likely to spend less. :) Good food AND more bang for their government-subsidy buck.

This might sound funny, but the thing that impressed me about this article, was that you can use food stamps for healthy food. Hallelujah! Now if only the low income families who have children would stop feeding said children the pre-packaged, sugar-laden, preservative-filled, obesity-and-diabetes-causing garbage that fills so many grocery shelves.

I'm sorry. Where did this soap box come from?
