I tend to play "spot the actor" with British shows, especially early Doctor Who.

Oh, I bet people crop up in many different shows from over there. Like Vancouver-filmed shows here--a decently broad pool, but only *so* broad, especially of, say, good character actors.

I'll always remember D'Onofrio for the first role we saw him in, very early on, as an auto mechanic who may or may not be the superhero Thor in Adventures in Babysitting. :-D

Reminds me of once turning on the TV, going around a few channels, and ending up in an old episode of Avengers. Good stuff, of course, and there was nothing else remotely interesting - but - waitaminute. The smallish, slender, athletic, blonde guest heroine - can it be? No, impossible. Nothing like her usual parts. Impossible, surely.

Except that it was. Charlotte Rampling, at twenty or so. Luminously beautiful, and proving that if she had wanted to be an action heroine, she would have been smashing at it.

Isn't is fun to run into early roles like that?

And to think about the different paths that a career might have taken. Charlotte Rampling is so damn good that she could have done anything, but I love to think of her following up on her action role in that episode and becoming some sort of female version of James Bond...

Cheers!
