Okay, I've been collecting some links that I think some of my fellow fans of the Boy Who Lived may find interesting in the wake of the final book. (I just realized that Harry's birthday was yesterday, as was JKR's. Many happy returns of the day to the Boy and his author!)

Spoilers for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows abound through these ( Read more... )

You have a better memory than me, so:

‘really captures the scope and tragedy of the thing, doesn’t it?’

I know Ron says this, but when? I can't remember, all I recall is that it made me laugh! And googling is no good because all anyone does is post this one line because unlike me they can actually remember the details of a book they read a week ago. *beats brain on desk* Gaah!

Thanks for the links, I'm enjoying them as it's slow day here at the Shiny Office.

You're welcome!

Re: that Ron line: Um, wow, I can't remember either! It's definitely Ron, and I'm fairly sure it's in DH, but I can't recall what he's talking about or even when it is, so I could look in the book.

You might try asking over at the Sugar Quill forums. They're Ron people, many of them, and there's a lot of squee and discussion going on there since the book came out. Or I could ask for you, since I already have an account with them.

It's near the very end of DH, after the battle of Hogwarts is over, and right after Harry has told Hermione and Ron about everything that happened to him. They're walking down the stairs after they leave Dumbledore's office, and Peeves is flying around, singing a little two-line ditty that he created to commemorate the entire battle against Voldemort. Being Peeves, it's totally childish and silly-sounding. And hence, Ron's comment upon hearing it.

Thank you! :-) And you're welcome to the links--there's a lot more out there, but these were some of the best I've found so far.
