December Challenge: Ever After

Warnings: It's rather abstract.
Summary: Believe it or not, this was an attempt to combine all three of this month's theme suggestions: Naraku, Happily Ever After and Free Verse. Loosley inspired by the current story arc (Manga Chapters 530+). I plan to repost it on my own journal soon with a few changes to divorce it somewhat from the guidelines of the challenge . It came out rather quick and rough, but it felt good to write poetry again (I think this is the first one I've posted all year. ouch.)

Ever After
Centered in webs unending
Victim echoes in my gut
~whispered dreams~
~desperate wishes~
Hanging, like leaves dead
Clinging to my bones as they
branch and tangle.
I have won.
They would freeze unchanged
But for time, which my very
Breath stirs. In ~ Out ~ In ~
Clamoring chance rattles loose ~ anything
Cleaving future from past ~
Forcing an imagining ~
Creating a moment ~
Unlike this.
I have lost.
