I'm so happy to read your good news. 16 lbs! It's amazing what the body does when it's getting treated right.
I think you should have flat-out told the doctor that he was being an ass and you would NOT be making an appointment. He won't change unless he realizes he's losing patients, and he might not realize he's lost you; he might just think you're a flake. But I get that not everyone is as forward as I'd like them to be. ;)
After the week of Christmas and New Years, I gained a couple of lbs back and then yoyo'd back and forth for several days. I finally got back on the right track. *G*
I don't think I'm going to be running in any marathons quite yet, but at least I think I've turned around.
This time I think I'll be able to keep the weight off, not just because I have more invested in the outcome, but because I'm retraining myself in how to eat, not just dieting.
Someone on diabetes suggested that I write a letter to the head of his medical group explaining exactly why I was having my files transfered to another doctor. I think I'll do that.
This guy is probably in his late 50s, pushing retirement age, and after this long I really don't think he gives a shit.
Like delurker said, it would almost be funny if the guy weren't in charge of peoples health.
Thanks. I'm sorry you know what it feels like to deal with incompetent doctors. I have hope that for every useless lump with a medical degree, there are others who actually know what to do with theirs. *G*
I've always been the type of person to become fascinated with some pretty off the wall things and then study them relentlessly until I'm either satisfied or get bored and move on.
I once studied the laws and techniques of deep sea salvage because I watched a couple of old movies and became interested. *G*
And I think that nurse was looking out for me. Obviously someone in that office has to have a care for the patients, and it's certainly not the doctor.
So glad you're making progress. My sister is having problems, too, and has to have a glucose tolerance test in a week or so. I hope she has a better doctor experience than you, because she's not nearly so assertive. I'm glad you're going to get another doctor. He sounds like a real tool.

(Although wow, that doctor sounds like crap! It would hysterical if he weren't, you know, in charge of people's health.)

Yeah, now that he's no longer in charge of my health, I can see the potential humor. I just cringe for all the others left under his tender care.
