Still perving on our boys in uniform...

My field of operation has shifted somewhat as it does when faced with the our boys in olive drab and cammies, back to the Vietnam War and the show Tour of DutyTour of Duty doesn't have a very big presence on LJ. There's a comm but it seems to be populated mostly with announcements for vid postings. ToD is one of the fandoms that's kept a large and ( Read more... )

In ToD I loved how protective Zeke was of Myron. Like in that episode where Myron was shot and Zeke flew with him to the hospital - yes, there was a sub-plot about Nikki and the baby, pft! - but I adored the way Zeke kept watching over Myron, like a hawk.

The whole platoon was Zeke's own little brood of chicks that he watched over, but Myron was definitely his favorite peep. *G*

Zeke was so laid back and Myron could be such a snarky little shit. They complimented each other so well.

I bought the Boy Who Picked the Bullets Up on your recommendation for my vietnam J2 AU, but have yet to read it or write that AU. :) I think I might dig it out. Thanks.

I'm glad you were able to get a hold of a copy, I remember you told me the purchase fell through the first time. I know you're going to enjoy it. Let me know what you think.

I really liked Tour of Duty, and hope someday to own the DVDs; I stop by the story site every few months to catch up on recent offerings.

it's been decades since I read The Boy Who Picked the Bullets Up, and I'd never come across the sequel - maybe I should add them to my 'get later' list

Like I said, the absence of the original sound track is disappointing, but it's still a great show and well worth the purchase. I watch them at least 1-2 times a year.

The sequel to TBWPTBU (what an acronym! *G*) wasn't nearly as good. It had a different tone entirely. But since the used price is as little as $.01 used (hell I even saw it new for $.56!) plus S & H, I'd say it's worth the investment.

Okay FINE! GEEZ! ;)

I just moved the first season of ToD to the top of my Netflix queue, shoving Rat Patrol down a ways. And I guess I'm ready to be hit up with some vid recs? Oh, and I'm gonna need to know who dies -- I do NOT like surprises, especially from decades old TV shows. :)

*does the touchdown dance!*

I like Rat Patrol but ToD is much better. I sent you a list of vid recs yesterday and I'll send you an email with fatalities in case anyone else doesn't want to be spoiled.

It was in answer to your email request for them. If you didn't get it I can resend. I kept a draft.
