[The first thing Hawke feels as he wakes is thousands of tiny legs crawling over him. Wait...he can feel? He's alive? Thank the Maker! Nothing can kill him

[Her body is limp, but breathing. Where normally Vie might have fought his attempts to carry her and insisted she's fine to walk on her own, this time she makes no attempt. In fact, she doesn't react at all. It's fun being oblivious to the world around you, unable to feel, smell, hear or see anything at all.
Deep down, Vie can feel nothing but terror and hope that Hawke got out alright.]
[It's habit to walk as quietly as she can. That Hawke is stomping on the spiders as he goes is certainly not missed.]
You're going to have a fun time cleaning spider out of your boots, Garrett.
[She sounds amused.]
And I'm willing to bet they don't give out the title 'Champion' for nothing.
[Down the stairs they go, and once out of the Barracks, Vie halts. The damn spiders are creeping through the grass from building to building, thick web tracing the walls.]
[She can't not laugh when he mentions donations being the reason for his title. Vie doesn't believe it for a second but she'll smile and play along.]
Oh, so you're a rich man? That, I didn't see coming.
[And she means it. Hawke doesn't act like most of the wealthy persons from home.]
Surely there is somewhere other than our quarters that they can't get to... I wonder.
[There's windows on the walls of the Great Keep and Vie plans to make the most of them. She checks the ground floor and frowns at the sight of spiders crawling all over the kitchen. A moment later, she's dusting her hands on her pants and picking a careful path up the wall to the second floor window. Spiders cover the wall still and it's not as easy a trip as she would like, but Vie still climbs like a pro.]
With a beard like that, I've full confidence in your success.
[She jumps from the wall and lands lightly, flicking spiders from herself as she walks back to Hawke.]
And inside there are four walls and a ceiling as opposed to one wall here. Easier to check the state of things from the outside rather than trek in and get bitten again.
Good, it's a fine ego. I don't like seeing it broken.
[Wary of guards huh? Sounds as if she's a thief of some kind. Of course he doesn't have much of a problem with that. After all, one of his friends is a notorious pirate.]

Any suggestions?

[He grins at her.]
Actually they hand it out to anyone if they donate enough gold to the city.
[Hawke looks left, then right, and the back at Vie giving her a shrug.]
It looks like they've made their home everywhere.

The second floor looks clear!

What? Did you think I got by on my good looks alone?
[And there she goes, scaling the wall like a chimp. Hawke stares on, both impressed and bewildered.]
There are stairs you know.

[Hawke rolls his eyes and starts heading back inside.]
Of course, and you weren't just showing off.
Reply
[So hah. Regardless, Vie trails along with him.]
Call it habit, if you will. Scaling walls and checking windows has saved my life more than a few times.
Reply
[Seriously. Look how hurt he is right now Vie. Just look at what you've done.]
A bit of a peep are we?
Reply
I'll remember to show off next time. Just to mend your broken ego.
[Vie shakes her head, amused.]
Not a peep. More so just assessing the situation before a job. One can never know for sure how many guards are.

Oh of course
[He winks slyly at her.]
Your secret is safe with me don't worry.
Reply
Secret? Wha-- oh.
[She's smart most of the time, but right now Vie's having a slow moment.]
It's not really a secret. A rogue Valei is a wanted person. One with a history like mine, even more so. Either I know my location, or I die.
Reply
Well that went right over her head. Time to be a little less subtle.]
So peeping is a high crime where you're from? Sounds like a bunch of prudes.
Reply
Indeed it is. Personally I don't see the problem. What about your world? Is peeping a crime?
Reply
Only if you get caught.
Reply
And have you been caught, Garrett?
[It's an innocent question. Really.]
