Does anyone else make summer lists of things they want to do? I realize that I should make a list of things to do every season, but for some reason summer is my favorite, I love summer, it seems open to more possibilities, and also I love summer. I am always so very, very happy when June rolls around ( Read more... )

I've seen a lot about a ton of different people writing lists of things they want to do this summer. Think its common and as you said summer just has more possiblities to it! I wrote a 101 things to do in 1001 days list a while back and am hoping to knock off somethings from this list this summer :)

WHat great feedback you seem to be getting; so exciting. It always is so cool, isn't it, when you get truly well thought out comments? (Of course, I too leave a ton a "good work" ones and those are great too but... *-^)

Woah, 101 things! I've barely written any in comparison! (A lot of my things seem to be crafts to make, lol) Good luck in completing that list!

I really love the well thought out comments, better than anything. 'Good job' and 'I liked it' are, of course, also loved in their own way, but nothing makes me happier than knowing someone put time and effort into a response to my fic. <3

I just realised, I have no idea where you post your fic. Or what you write, when you're not handing out drabbles like candy. x3

That said, I know the feeling that your/my fics are not actually good. I am usually fairly pleased with what I've churned out right after I've done it or after such a long time that the memory of writing it/having it LIVE inside my head has faded, but in between, all I can see is the mechanics of it, and at that point it looks hideously inadequate. I keep seeing my choices and their intended effect, but not the effect itself. Does that make sense? I always have to keep in mind that the reader does not have that handicap.

Hee! Well, I am mainly writing this long-ass TMNT fic for a friend, but aside from that I occasionally write fic for other fandoms and post them on my lj and/or on ffnet. (Hee, handing drabbles out like candy! <3)

Yeah, it's pretty much the same for me. The story's great inside my head, but when I read it on paper I see all these little technical issues or fret about characterization, or other stuff like that.

It's why I hate people who respond to complaints of 'not enough lesbians/this pairing/plot' in fandom with 'WRITE IT YOURSELF.' Really? How can I get any enjoyment out of something I've written myself? T_T (For one thing, I know the ending.)

I make summer reading lists, and basic to-do lists. Actually, I just like making lists. ^^

Glad you are getting such lovely reviews. What kind of fics have you been posting lately? *hasn't been around much*

List-making is nifty. It definitely helps organize my really chaotic thoughts. (And keeps me from forgetting stuff. XD)

I've pretty much been posting this multi-chapter TMNT fic for a friend. Aside from that, there's about two shorter fics under works, one for Ouran, one for ATLA. If I can get them done, lol.

Oh, I make summer lists every year. There's something about summer that brings me energy and joy, and I always wind up planning to do more than I actually do. ;-)

I'm in the process of writing a long fic right now and constantly hating it, picking it apart, that I'm going to fuck it all up and ruin it, so I definitely understand how helpful and encouraging feedback is. It can do wonders sometimes. Nothing is ever as good as it is in my head, and I'm never satisfied with it...ah, well. Guess that's a writer's life.

Yessss. The summer makes me feel more like a new year is happening than anything in winter, really. And also it's warm and lovely and sunny and you can do EVERYTHING. I hear you on over-planning. Me, too. >_>

Long fics kind of break me somewhere in my soul. I think along with the nitpicking is me despairing of how long the fic is, wondering if I can finish it, etc. I have 11 chapters on the fic I'm working on now, and it's barely begun. Short chapters, but still, really frustrating to realize how much I have left.
