every home should have a library and a laboratory

I wonder even today what my parents were thinking by giving me this thing full of chemicals like ammonia and hydrochloric acid and iron filings and sulfur and expecting me to use it wisely. I myself am amazed I never burned myself or at least developed a rash. As it was, I made tremendous amounts of goop and was saddened when none of it achieved ( Read more... )

Have you considered experimenting in molecular gastronomy? It just seems like the best of both worlds and right up your alley :D

Things I haven't outgrown since I was 6: passionate love of spaghetti, deep-seeded need to be a superhero, urge to do somersaults in the middle of inappropriate places, uncanny ability to immediately switching into a daydream where I talk to imaginary people, fear of playing intense video games because they are a) too scary or b) too heartbreaking when you die.

Damn, that looks seriously cool. I want to know what some of that stuff tastes like.

PASSIONATE LOVE OF SPAGHETTI FTW. We had a place called Spaghetti Works in Nebraska that used to be my favorite restaurant. That, and Pasta To Go. THEN WE MOVED HERE AND NO MORE SPAGHETTI THEMES. I was so sad.

Also ditto on daydream talking to imaginary people and desire to be a superhero.

I had both an easy bake oven and a science kit (yet nowhere near as 'advanced' as yours, shame). I eventually stopped playing with the easy bake oven when the things I baked were far bigger than the little lightbulb could handle.

Still adore cooking, painting and all that jazz.

Why just today I found solar lights that had multi colored options, freaked out happily, bought them and made sunjars filled with white and blue oddly cut crystals just to watch them glow.

:D

Oooh sunjars! <3 They sound super-awesome. Make me think of fairies in a jar.

Oh, and I made my barbies into punks. I moussed the hell out of their hair and would adore making it multicolored and just all around a bad ass chick.

^.^

...come to think of it I still paint on my walls and blow bubbles when I want too. Man I don't ever want to grow up!

Doing weird stuff to my Barbies was a nice chunk of my child life. And yeah, growing up seems like the worst thing to ever happen to people ever. I want to keep all the fun parts of childhood, like the games and the toys and the playfulness.

LOL, I'm right with you on candy stores and toy stores. Also craft and art supply stores, which I continue to love beyond all reason. XD

OMG, craft and art supply stores are EVEN BETTER than toy stores because then I get to make my own toys. And candy stores! Especially pretty ones! SO MUCH LOVE.
