It was read (in both spanish and english) at my best friend's wedding (their 3 year anniversary is on the 28th of this month) and I've always considered it the most beautiful thing ever, and I always try to repeat the last lines to myself so I never forget them.

Yeah, the reason I dislike most romantic poems is they're so...cloying. Very schmoopy. Which is why I love this- so descriptive and intense. Good job using it at your wedding! Which was the other reading?

*lol* Well, that one's pretty classic. I like Ruth's speech to Naomi:

But Ruth said, “Do not urge me to leave you or turn back from following you; for where you go, I will go, and where you lodge, I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God. Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. Thus may the Lord do to me, and worse, if anything but death parts you and me.”

It does mention God, but it's still awesome.
