I heard that the document itself is very convincingly factual and solid. It pretty much makes it that the only argument against it is 'I personally think gay sex is icky.' I'm not going to say success is guaranteed and give myself unnecessary hopes, but I hope it's a good chance, at least. This ruling had me smiling happily all through dinner, even with Fox News playing in the background and my sisters talking about dumb shit. I HOPE we can see a USA with no marriage bans.

The court wasn't the supreme court, which is the next area they could take this too. As it stands right now it's solid to a degree, but since it was only a provincial court win, DOMA and others could challenge it to be repealed across the country.

Hence why I'm still very much worried it's going to be short lived in happiness, since the Supreme Court has never been friendly to non-white, non-hetero people (also, non males)
