What happened in Florida is obscene, but their laws are happily anti-homosexual (adoption by a gay is illegal).

In regards of Obama, he's been saying that for a long time, he's also against Homosexual's being legally wed and wants only civil unions. So I am sorry to say, but I am taking nothing he says of value until I see it legally passed...

I think that's it's an amazing step forward just to have the President of the nation have a public assembly addressing this as a problem that must be solved, honestly. I don't expect those laws to be passed quickly, because anything legal takes ages to process, and there is only so much the President can do. A lot also relies on the other members of our government. I do take what he says of value, because he cares enough to get up there on that stage and address LGBT rights and treat them as people who need equality.

And Florida can KISS MY ASS. AUGH. Although I'd expect the southern states to have a horrible view on homosexuality, race, and gender, anyway.

I agree it's going to take ages of red tape to get these things through the government (damn you, checks and balances!!) but it is definitely moving in the right direction.

I wish we could just fly straight to equality, but I know that progress comes in baby steps. I just get so anxious and excited when I see signs of moving forwad- like I get so frustrated when I see all thes signs of staying behind. T_T

As for that video, Obama made me cry at his speech at the near end. I'm so glad he's the President since he thinks about things and realized how hard those people have fought.
