small, pretty things

I was thinking about those. Just little everyday things you notice that have a sense of incredible beauty about them. Like the reflection of water and light in a tunnel, dancing, line-patterned ripple marks. Or sunlight shining through leaves, or the reflectiveness of mirrors and metal. The pattern of curly hair. The little hollow at the base of

I'm not sure I qualify as an artist, but I love those little everyday things. I go out of my way to find them, most days - they nifty up my day. (Or I could just be a sap.)

Well, that makes us both saps! They really do nifty up one's day. Someday I shall compile a list of these things, or something.

I've sometimes wished I had a camera on me for things like that, but the view has never come out quite as nice on film when I do have one as when I saw it with my own eyes. I think everyone notices things like that now and then.

Yeah, those little everyday things are also very momentary. It's part of what makes them so beautiful, I think. I've found myself doing this a lot lately, though. Just stopping to look at tiny, pretty things.
