The long-awaited, much-anticipated NYCC report

Mar 05, 2007 08:25

You remember my drawing of the line for last year's New York Comic Con? Well, today I got to Javitz at ten and saw that the line was outside the building. It went from approximately the middle of the building (circa 35th Street) down to 34th then back up to 40th Street where it turned West for half a block. So I it took me twenty minutes to walk to ( Read more... )

Hi! We met at the con when I was hanging out with dotfic (also friends with mclittlebitch and darkling1). I friended you, hope that's cool.

That superheroes in literature panel did seem pretty boring, glad I skipped out half way through for the Brain K. Vaughn panel.

Brian K. Vaughan rocks. He rocks. I've only read one volume of Ex Machina (making me feel like a total poseur, sitting in the audience) but I now feel I must be his fan for life.

Don't feel bad all I've read of BKV's stuff is the first Ex Machina volume and Runaways. All the talk about Y The Last Man had me completely lost. And I went to two of his panels.

I admire your ability to be concise, my con report got so long that I'm breaking it up into three part. o_O Probably no one will read it.

Oh and BKV mentioned at his spotlight panel that he thinks the dirty Runaways fanfic is awesome. Heh.

Concise? You call this concise? It's five pages! And I'm friending you back.

As you might guess, I have all of Y: The Last Man. Not that you'd ever get around to reading it.

Geez, you borrow one comic book for a year and a half... I was planning on asking you next time I saw you.

(And apparently having a head cold means I've completely lost the ability to type.)

But I love going to these things. Why? I don't know.

Schedenfraude?

(I'll admit, I kind of like them, too. It's fun to laugh at the clueless, desperate people.)

It sounds much better than last year. Still glad I didn't go. Still pissed off about the movie "previews" which were scheduled for a full hour. And consisted of precisely four previews, played over and over. Three of which were for movies that had already been released (none of which were genre films). The last being for "Dreamgirls"...which didn't come out for another 9 months.
