a feed is The transmission or conveyance of a local radio or television program, as by satellite, on the Internet, or by broadcast over a network of stations. Feeds can also be blogs or anything that you would subscribe to that updates regularly like a webcomic. Some places offer feed subscription services so that you can collect the ones you want to read all in one place.

Technorati is an Internet search engine for searching blogs, competing with Google and Yahoo. As of June 2008, Technorati indexes 112.8 million blogs and over 250 million pieces of tagged social media.[2] The name Technorati is a portmanteau, pointing to the technological version of literati, or intellectuals. So if I click on the RSS or Atom buttons, what does that do? It doesn't appear to do anything...does this subscribe my blog to some search engine?

Nope. This site explains how to get the service and then what clicking the orange button does. It is kinda like online bookmarking.

Hmmm...online bookmarking...I think I'm getting the picture. I don't think it's something I have to be worried about. It does seem to be a good research tool that would save a lot of websurfing time though.
Thanks for the point by point. Sometimes, it all just goes the fuck over my head...
