My full photo album at http://ivo.nu/photos, all 10,000+ pictures in 300 albums, are now behind an authentication box, as to deter any random joe on the internet to see all my family pics. So, when the login window pops up, it asks for "Mom's name" and then "our son's name" and I have no idea what your mom's name is. But then the next window it explains it better and I got in fine after that.

I can hardly say "please put in Chantal's name". Maybe I'll make it "my wife" but that sounds so weird...

Why does "my wife" sound weird but "our son doesn't" ? What about "the mrs" ?I dunno, plus like I said after 1 bad login there's the other window which describes it better and probably makes it stick in people's heads.

I use Bing as my search engine. Each day, BING features a wonderful photograph with info boxes about the photo. Since today is Veteran's Day, they feature the Vietnam Memorial Wall. I clicked one of the search boxes that said although many people may recognize the Wall, there are also other aspects of the Vietnam Memorial that people do not know about. The info box said click here to see more, so I did. A page of pictures came up, with apparently one of yours being included. I clicked it simply out of curiosity and was presented with a dialog box to log into your server with a username and password, which of course, I don't know. THEN I got a message on the Access denied screen that said I have no business looking at your family photos if I don't know your family. I have to tell you I am insulted. You're right, I DON'T know your family, but then if you don't want people looking at your family photos, why is one posted on a BING search page featuring the Vietnam Memorial Wall? I am grateful for ALL who serve now and who served in the ( ... )

Gee, thanks for being such a decent human being. Better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt. Too bad you proved the latter part of that statement.

Dear anonymous (too cowardly to actually face me with your real name?)

I do not administer, own, or have any influence on what Bing decides to scrape from the interwebs and display and/or link to on their pages. However, I can control what information about my family is hosted on my own servers. And as such, I stand by my point that you have absolutely no right to view my privately hosted family pics.

I am frankly insulted that you think that you have a right to intrude on my privacy. Who are you to decide that you can rummage through my pictures?

No matter how grateful you might be for all that serve or served in the past, I am insulted that you believe that your curiosity in American history warrants violating my boundaries.

(Note that the comment left on my blog regarding calling you stupid is not mine. Random anonymous people leave comments on my blog, much like how you left a comment to my post, inviting and inciting poor dialogue what quickly has become a terrible thread. )
