Since I answered hellhounds below, here's some of Ryan the stubborn asshat!
Ryan looks at the phone. The screen still shows Brendon's, still has evidence of Brendon's message even if Ryan wants to pretend it isn't there.
How could he possibly come back to Panic! after all that has happened.
He tries to think for a moment about getting up on stage again, Brendon on his side, Spencer behind him, and while it's all he really wants again, he can't help but think of what people will say.
Plus, he's no goddamn charity case. He's doing fine on his own.
Hellhounds - here's a little sneak peek (sort of crackish):
At first, Brendon doesn't notice anything that strange about Ryan. Sure, he seems a little nervous, but it's one of the first times that he and Ryan have hung out in nearly five years, so he doesn't want to say anything and ruin the pseudo-comfort.
But Ryan's eyes start to dart quickly around the room. His breath speeds up, and he starts to mutter under his breath "Oh, God, no".
Brendon has seen Ryan fucked up on a lot of different things before, but he's never seen this. It's only when Ryan starts going on about "fucking loud barking" that Brendon makes the connection.
A shot of anger runs through Brendon, because how could Ryan be so stupid, but he goes over to the kitchen cabinet, gets out the cylinder of salt, and pours a circle around himself and Ryan
