Bourbon Street in New Orleans is a giant party every night. It is a place of noisy bars, drunken tourists, strippers, hookers, female-impersonator shows, parades, jazz, and generally, more opportunities for dissolution than pretty much anywhere else in the country. On the second story, above the stripper-bars and the the eateries, are apartments. I am sure that, if you were to take a poll of any teenagers you found living in those apartments, they would report New Orleans to be the dullest place on Earth. I think you may be being a bit hard on Cary.

Which takes nothing away from your point. The kids in the stories you link to were being very, very bad. I disapprove.

In answer to your question, "What the Hell is wrong with kids today?", nothing new or unusual. You are simply viewing kids through a different filter. When you were a kid yourself -- last week as it seems to me -- your opinion of what kids were like was formed by extrapolating from the kids you knew.
