Zack cast a quick glance in Aerith's direction, noting with a bit of curiosity that she wasn't moving any farther forward than he had. That was understandable, under the circumstances, to not want to rush in--especially when considering the incomprehensible turn of events that had just taken place. But that didn't mean he had to like keeping a distance, pretending nothing was wrong right away, nor the fact that the both of them had taken up the responsibility to stay back so automatically ( ... )

"I know," Aerith said to Barret, eyes watching his arm carefully. She trusted him. And though she had been expecting this sort of reaction, it still caused something to catch in her throat. She wanted to explain, to tell them something good, to tell them why... but she didn't know any more than they did. It was so frusterating that she wanted to scream, laugh, and cry right then and there... though that probably wouldn't help soothe the tensions in the room ( ... )

Barret was willing to admit this not only pissed him off, thinking of how these two supposedly dead people could be standing before them, but scared him as well. Dead people shouldn't be walking, as much as he wished some from his past would. However, the situation was a little too weird too tense. They weren't a threat, so holding a gun to them just added to the stress ( ... )

Cloud nodded his head a little as he gently extracted the towel from Tifa's fingers and wrapped it securely around his palm. He was surprised how much he could keep an air of calm about him when his thoughts were racing a million miles an hour inside his skull, rattling more than he already was.
