Back to Black

So I'm back at uni for what is probably going to be my final semester of my undergraduate degree. This is a little intimidating, and scary, and sad, and exciting. I'm here an hour before my first class starts because normally getting a bus into Uni in the first two-three weeks of school is a nightmare, but this morning it was relatively easy going ( Read more... )

And then it was so crowded on the bus that the guy in front was practically lying on me. He was about half a head shorter and his hair really stank. Way too much product.

Glad, to be back, then? My first class is late this afternoon, and I must say I can't wait!

You coming to S'n'B? I'll be there this week, though I won't get there until probably 7:30.

re: dirty puppy - that's seriously impressive. I'd ask what she's been into to get so filthy, but knowing your dog, probably everything.

I am coming to S'n'B! I don't really know what I'm working on at the moment. I want to knit a Bolero or something! Or maybe I should make a Harry Potter scarf. They're fun, and practical. In every other city but ours, that is.

I'm back into my shawl. I have forgiven it for misleading me. And I'm back up to where I was when I had to frog it :)

I must say that even though I haven't worn it very often (actually, I've lent it to various people for Lions and Broncos games as often as I've worn it myself), my Gryffindor scarf is one of the best things I've ever made in terms of improving my knitting technique. Massive tube scarf? That's a lot of straight knitting. By the end of it you can knit blindfolded and upside down and the stitches will still be more even than they were at the beginning. Of course, to cut down on the boring I did mine double-knitting - a tube on straight needles. Not as hard as it sounds.

That said, knitting a garment is pretty satisfying. I'm thinking I should maybe take a break from shawls after this one and do a cardigan or something. I've only ever made the one jumper, I haven't made any shrugs or boleros or anything.
