04. I just can't seem to get it right today

First, I don't need some king in my room. Good food.

Second, who the hell thought up this outfit?

Third, what all have people done with their memory crystals? As far as disposing of them, activating them, or messing with them? I can talk to you outside of the journals if you'd prefer.

[It takes a bit for Cara to find the memory crystal in her dusty house, as she hasn't been there for a couple of weeks. She's using her jacket to wipe the dust off when she spots the boy outside his house.]

Hey there! You're Alchemy, right?

[The short boy scratches his head.]

Yeah. That makes you Cara?

Uh-huh!

[She offers him the crystal and looks him up and down. Doesn't really notice the shortness since he's only an inch shorter than she is.]

You know, you really look a lot like Fullmetal.

We're brothers.

[She didn't offer a payment, but... something in him tells him to ask her instead of just taking it.]

What's your price?

Really? Wow--it's lucky you found each other here.

[Smiles, but it turns into a puzzled look when he mentions payment.]

Price? Oh--I wasn't thinking of any. You can have it.

He mentioned having another version of me before this. Fullmetal knew we were brothers.

[He's not too inclined to reveal how he figured out FM was telling the truth.]

Thanks.

[Grin. He'd just owe her something... sometime. Or maybe not since she was giving it for free.]

Another... version? You mean you were here before and don't remember it?

[Grins back, doesn't think he owes her at all. It's just a used memory crystal.]

No problem.

Something like that.

[He still doesn't believe it himself, entirely.]

Wow. Does--anyone else remember you from before?

He shoved a hand into his pocket, one hand holding the memory crystal.]

The bastard chief of adventurers.

The bastard--oh, Snap? You two don't get along, huh.

[He snorts. 'Don't get along' is an understatement.]

Nosy ass of a man.

He seems all right to me, though I don't know him too well.

[Should probably change the subject now.]

So what are you going to do with the memory crystals?

[His mouth opens to retort his research is his own business, but this... is probably her end of his getting the memory crystal.]

See what they're made of.

[Not quite a lie, but not the whole truth either. He also wanted to see if there was any way to track where they're from.]

Hm... I wish I knew more about taking stuff apart like that; I'd give you a hand. Must be something pretty strange to have stuff from our heads in it.

[Smiles.]

But good luck! I hope you figure it out.

Yeah. See ya.

[He turns around and walks back into his house, waving his hand in a goodbye.]
