I love glimpses into Jack's life pre-Doctor. This didn't disappoint. I especially love the last line, and you did an awesome job of communicating without speech.
I am to not disappoint! I feel like I could have delved a bit more into communicating without speech, but this is what leaving your writing until the last second does.
If this were a Whoniverse Doctor-n-companion adventure, there would be much running around, silly hand motions, promises that they would get out safely, and last minute epiphanies followed by much hugging and laughter.
Instead you get anger, fear of death, violence, threats, and foreboding thoughts.
