This was beautiful and aching and sweet. I thoroughly enjoy your style, and the little touches like the Bedouin reference that hint at the layers of their relationship that we never see on screen.

So poignant, dealing with the aftermath of such horror. Delving into Castle's psyche is such an interesting place. He puts up a child-like attitude but he's a very deeply layered man. I love how you managed to convey how broken he felt and how Beckett was the only one to help him be okay. I love how you added more backstory to what he was thinking when he was being held against his will. Worrying about how Beckett would deal is so Castle. Well written!

Thank you so much! I'm glad this worked for you -- particularly the characterization, as that's the part I worry about most. You're right in saying that he's just as layered a character as, say, Beckett, and I love exploring those things he tries so hard to deflect away.
